Newborn Session Prep Guide

Thank you for choosing me to capture these precious moments with your little one! To ensure a smooth and successful session, here are a few helpful tips:

📷 Session Duration
Newborn sessions typically last between 1-3 hours, so please plan accordingly. Bring everything you’d normally need for an outing—diapers, wipes, extra clothing, snacks or drinks for yourself, and anything needed to feed your baby. I have a nursing pillow, a comfortable couch, and a changing station available for your convenience.

🍼 Feeding & Sleep Preparation
A sleepy baby is key to achieving those sweet, curled-up poses! If possible, feed your baby just before the session. If you have a long drive, you're welcome to feed upon arrival at the studio. Keeping your baby awake for 1-2 hours before the session can also help ensure they’re nice and sleepy when we begin.

👕 Dressing Your Baby
Please dress your little one in an easy-to-remove outfit that won’t leave marks on their skin. This will make for a smooth transition into their first set of poses.

🧴 Skin Preparation
If your baby has dry skin, applying lotion the night before and the morning of the session can help keep their skin soft and smooth.

🎀 Sentimental Items
If you have any meaningful items you'd like included in the photos—such as a small stuffed animal, a handmade blanket, or wedding rings—feel free to bring them along! I’d love to incorporate them into your session.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Bringing Siblings
If older siblings will be joining, please let me know in advance so we can plan accordingly. Many families bring an extra adult to help care for siblings once their portion of the session is complete, allowing us to continue in a calm, quiet space.

I’m so excited to meet you and your new baby! If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out. See you soon!
